About Us

iwi was founded in November 2009, by a small group of gamers who wanted to build social games. From these small shoots a new social games studio based in London (UK) was born. Our mission is to build high quality fun and exciting games that anyone can play with friends and strangers alike, anywhere, anytime.

SuperFun Town has been the most successful game to date with more than 2 million people playing the city builder. iwi has also launched Deal or No Deal Live (powered by iwi games platform, in conjunction with Endemol PLC) late in 2009, followed by Bingo.net and World Keepie Uppie Cup.

In 2011, iwi will be rolling out a number of new games titles across Facebook, the iPhone and iPad.

iwi means ‘people’ or ‘folk’:

‘iwi’ form the largest everyday social units in Māori populations (in New Zealand Society).  The word iwi means “people” (or “folk”); in many contexts it may mean “tribe”, “clan” or group and sometimes a conglomeration of Maori tribes.

iwi HQ is in central London:
